The Lexicalization of the Cross Layer Structure"Verb+Mediation"and the Metaphoric Function of Prepositions
The"verb+preposition+object"structure is a regular and coagulative structure.From a dia-chronic perspective,the"verb+preposition+object"structure is not a new grammatical phenomenon,but a legacy from ancient Chinese.However,prepositional phrase preposition gradually became more common in modern Chinese,making this structure particularly special.From a synchronic perspective,this paper analyzes the characteristics of the"verb+preposition+object"structure,where prepositions serve as an element and in-formation supplement.The"verb+preposition+object"structure undergoes a cross layer reanalysis process,and it is more reasonable to define it as a verb object structure.The prepositions in the structure undergo a phe-nomenon of de categorization,gradually achieving cross-border merger with verb components.
