A Study on the Metaphorization of Traditional Chinese Culture in Qin Opera Librettos
Traditional Chinese opera culture is a window to show the charm of Chinese culture to the world.As one of the oldest operas in China,Qin Opera is rich in metaphors and traditional Chinese culture be-cause of its literary character.Based on conceptual metaphor theory in cognitive linguistics,this paper explores the metaphorical phenomena in Qin Opera librettos and the metaphorization of Chinese traditional culture from three aspects:orientational metaphor,ontological metaphor and structural metaphor,with the purpose of better understanding the culture-loaded implications in Qin opera librettos and other operas,telling Chinese stories and spreading traditional Chinese culture to the outside world.
