Concern of Multimodal Discourse Analysis of Qin Opera Scripts Translation:Fifteen Strings of Cash
Qin Opera is one of the oldest dramas in Chinese Han ethnic history,and its form of expression mainly includes language,singing,music,musicalinstruments,stunts,costumes,facial make up,etc.It is a typi-cal dynamic multimodal text,reflecting literariness,image,sound and action.Based on Zhang Delu's theoretical framework of multimodal discourse analysis,this paper selects the traditional opera of Qin Opera Fifteen Strings of Cash as the research object,analyzes its multimodal discourse features in terms of culture,context,content,and expression levels,and explores the multimodal complementary relationships and multimodal mean-ing representation strategies in the English translation process of Qin Opera for the purpose of expanding the-scope of Qin Opera script translation and multimodal theory research.
