Community Participation in After-school Services:Existing Contradictions and Development Paths
Following the implementation of the"Double Reduction"policy,after-school services in schools have faced challenges such as imbalances between supply and demand and increased teacher workload.Community involvement in after-school services can help alleviate the burden on schools while meeting the needs of parents and students. However, research reveals several pressing contradictions in community participa-tion:high family demand but limited resources;diverse teacher sources but insufficient funding;rich course content but weak systematization;and the potential for collaborative education but unclear functional bounda-ries.To address these issues, the development of community after-school service resources should focus on improving policies to encourage community participation, integrating spaces to establish resource-sharing mechanisms, deepening curriculum design to enhance service quality, stabilizing staffing to build professional service teams, and fostering societal support to develop robust oversight evaluation systems.
