摘要
亨利·詹姆斯是现代英美文坛巨匠,是 19 世纪现实主义小说家,开创了心理分析小说之先河.他的代表作之一《螺丝在拧紧》是一部悬念迭起的哥特式中篇小说.整部小说以女教师主观性的视角讲述故事,悬念更迭,展现出独特的哥特式小说叙事艺术.通过对《螺丝在拧紧》进行文本细读,以热奈特叙事学为理论依据,从时间倒错、聚焦、频率三方面来研究小说中的悬念艺术,探究悬念铺设背后的理论依据,揭示哥特式小说的美学艺术.
Abstract
Henry James is a giant of modern English and American literature,and a realistic novelist in the 19th century who pioneered psychoanalytic fiction.One of his masterpieces,"The Turn of the Screw"is a Goth-ic novel with a series of suspense.The whole novel is narrated from the subjective perspective of a young gov-erness,with a series of suspense and unique Gothic narrative art.Through the textual close reading of"The Turn of the Screw"and taking Genette's narratology as the theoretical basis,the art of suspense in the novel can be studied in terms of anachronies,focalizations,and frequency to explore the theoretical basis behind the suspense laying and to reveal the aesthetic art of the Gothic novel.
