Study on the effect of high-frequency infiltration potassium-control dietary education on potassium man-agement in maintenance hemodialysis patients
Objective To investigate the effect of high-frequency infused dietary education on potassium management in main-tenance hemodialysis(MHD)patients. Methods Sixty-four MHD hyperkalemia patients who were treated in a hemodialysis center of a tertiary A hospital in Huzhou from January 2023 to August 2023 were selected and divided into a control group and an experimental group of 32 cases each by using the random number table method. The control group received conventional dietary education and the ex-perimental group added high-frequency infiltration dietary education on this basis. The incidence of hyperkalemia and patient satisfac-tion after one month of intervention,as well as the patients'knowledge of potassium and dietary behavior compliance before and after the intervention, were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention, the incidence of hyperkalemia in the experi-mental group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Patient satisfaction was higher in the experimental group compared to the control group(P<0.05).The dietary behavior adherence scale score of the experimental group was(85.66±5.34),which was significantly higher than that of the control group(74.91±5.41),(P<0.05).The score of blood potassium knowledge mastery in the experimental group was(9.47±0.72),which was significantly higher than that of the control group(8.47±1.19)(P<0.05).Con-clusion High-frequency infiltration potassium-control dietary education can effectively help MHD patients to reduce the intake of high-potassium foods and help to maintain the blood potassium level while also enhance patient satisfaction with dietary education and im-proving dietary behavior compliance. Its clinical value is significant and worth further promotion and application in practice.
