代际差异与矛盾已经构成21世纪20年代美国政治中的主要裂痕之一.代际差异主要表现为政治意识形态差异、政党偏好差异与公共政策偏好差异.社会保障与社会正义领域的代际矛盾也呈现出美国独有的"交叉性"特征.美国政治中的代际差异与矛盾既预示着冲突与分裂,也预示着新力量的生成与新变化的发生.代际矛盾或将进一步阻断青年世代的"美国梦".代际更替或将深刻改变美国未来的政治力量对比.美国对华认知的代际差异或将对未来的中美关系产生影响.
Abstract
Generational differences and contradictions have been one of the major cleavages in American politics since the 1920s.Generational differences are mainly manifested in political ideology,in party preferences,and in public policy positions.The intergenerational conflicts over social security and social justice also represent the unique"intersectionality"characteris-tic of the United States.Intergenerational differences and contradictions in U.S.politics signal both conflict and division,as well as the emergence of new forces and the onset of change.Intergenerational conflict may further block the"American dream"of the younger generation.Generational change may profoundly alter the future balance of political power in the U-nited States.Intergenerational differences in U.S.perceptions of China may have implications for future U.S.-China relations.
