Numerical simulation of gas-liquid two-phase flow in gasifier quench chamber with different structures
Aiming at the problems of poor scrubbing effect of crude syngas and slag blocking of bubble breaker in industrial quench chambers, the proposal was made for such adjustment schemes as changing the ratio of liquid pool diameter to downcomer diameter, reducing the bubble breaking strips in the bed layer and adjusting the pitch of single-layer bubble breaking strip.Based on the dual-fluid model and population balance model,3D CFD simulation was conducted on the quench chamber with bubble breaking strip, and the liquid phase volume fraction, velocity distribution, turbulent kinetic energy distribution, vortex distribution, bubble diameter distribution under 70%,100%and 110%loads were compared. The results showed that after the adjustment, the bubble diameter in the quench chamber was smaller, the scrubbing effect was better, the gas-liquid two-phase mass and heat transfer was more complete, and it could adapt to different load conditions.
