Effect of surfactant on desorption performance of coal seam gas
In order to investigate the effect of surfactant on the desorption performance of coal seam gas, soft and hard coal samples from a coal mine area in the Ordos Basin were taken as the research objects. The surface tension of different types of surfactant aqueous solutions and their contact angles on the surface of coal samples were measured. The effect of surfactants on gas desorption in different coal samples was investigated through gas desorption experiments, and the mechanism of surfactant reducing the gas desorption was analyzed. The results showed that when the mass fraction of surfactant was 0.3%,the composite surfactant FH-18 had the best effect on reducing the surface tension of aqueous solution, which could reduce the surface tension to 23.5 mN/m.The anionic surfactant SDBS had the smallest contact angle on the surface of coal samples, with a contact angle of 12.6°and 16.5°on the surfaces of soft and hard coal samples, respectively. The wettability of the coal sample surface was significantly improved.Different types of surfactants could reduce the amount of gas desorption in coal samples, among which FH-18 had the best inhibitory effect on gas desorption.Compared with blank dry coal samples, the gas desorption of soft and hard coal samples treated with FH-18 could be reduced by 70.48%and 67.55%,respectively.
