Design of progressive die for code lock shell based on AutoForm
The forming process of a code lock shell was simulated by using AutoForm finite ele-ment software. The influences of die fillet, blank holding force, and tensile coefficient on the crack-ing,thinning rate, and stress and strain of the part were analyzed. The forming parameters were op-timized according to the formability simulation diagram of the part, and the forming process plan that once drawing and once sizing was determined.According to the process requirements of the parts, the three-stage layout of the die structure was designed, the first stage to complete punching and puncturing, the second to complete the drawing, the third to complete shaping, punching and blanking. The production proved that the sectional layout could simplify the structure of the multi-station drawing punching die, reduce the forming interference between the processes, and improve the dimensional accuracy of the parts after forming.
