Investigation of adaptive positioning hydroforming technology for isocurvature anisotropic curved edge plates
It investigation explored a"one mould with multi-part adaptive positioning"solution for the rubber hydroforming for anisotropic curved edge plates of equal curvature.The solution en-abled to simultaneous forming two symmetrical sheet metal plate parts with different curved edges in opposite directions in a mould,which reduced the number of mould and increased the forming efficiency.Furthermore,using CATIA and PAM-STAMP finite element analysis software to opti-mize the parameters,the body height was set at 40 mm,allowing the 6 mm reinforced small bend to be hydraulically applied in one pass.The positioning of the mould and the part was changed to a combination of round and oblong holes,round pin cap dodging nests and hemispherical step pins with caps,which improved the efficiency of positioning and unloading the part,and the quality of the product in a single forming.
