Service cracking failure analysis of aluminum alloy die casting die parts
Through the analysis of alloy elements, metallographic structure, hardness, force defor-mation,and thermal stress of aluminum alloy die casting die parts that cracked after 2 000 serve cy-cles,the different steel materials and different ejector pillar structures were used to compare and verify. The analysis results showed that the uneven distribution of thermal stress caused by die temperature was one of the main causes of cracking in the early service of aluminum alloy die cast-ing die parts.Improving the surface strength of die parts and reducing the uneven distribution of thermal stress could reduce the risk of cracking in the early service of aluminum alloy die casting die parts, which was conducive to prolonging the service life of the die.
