Analysis on forming process of electric meter end cover and the mould design
The injection moulding process and the mould of an electric meter end cover was re-searched to determine the moulding process parameters,parting surface,and side core pulling structure,and the moulding quality of the plastic parts was improved,and the mould opening prob-lems were solved.The Moldflow software was used to model the forming simulation of the meter end cover,and the moulding time,pressure,cooling,and warping deformation of the plastic parts were analyzed.Based on the simulation results,the filling parameters,cooling parameters,and structures that affect warping were further optimized.The optimized end cover was filled evenly,and the injection pressure was reduced from 180 MPa to 80.3 MPa,and the warping deformation was 0.645 mm,which decreased 33%compared to before.Finally,based on the optimization results to design the forming mould for end cover,the core and cavity were designed as a combined struc-ture,and a side core pulling mechanism with angle pin was used to achieve the formation and de-molding of the blind hole groove for the side buckle of the plastic part.Through moulding simula-tion assisting in the development of injection mould could improve the moulding quality of plastic parts and speed up the mould development process.
