Design of extrusion die with two-claw toothed insert for water-cooled motor shell
The main quality problems and the causes of extruded aluminum profiles for domestic water-cooled motor casings were introduced.Taking a typical product as an example, the prob-lems existing in the traditional extrusion die structure was analyzed. The reason for the low cylin-dricity of traditional products were pointed out,it was due to the difficulty of the upper die pro-cessing,which results in low precision of the die.A mandrel die structure with two-claw toothed insert was proposed, and its working principle was introduced, and the constituent elements of this structure were described, including a cylindrical mandrel die with a convex platform, which was mainly characterized by annular and U-shaped grooves, while the toothed insert core was mainly characterized by protrusions. The practice showed that the new type die has the character-istics of simplified processing, long service life, low manufacturing cost, and short manufacturing cycle.
