Research on friction stir welding process of magnesium alloy for aircraft fuselage
In order to improve the welding performance of ZM 5 magnesium alloy, the effective application of this material in the repair of the external shell and parts of the aircraft fuselage was realized. In this study, the material was welded by friction stirring process, and the microscopic morphology observation and hardness test of the welding interface were carried out by scanning electron microscope and Vickers hardness tester. After observation and testing,it is found that when the friction stir welding stir welding stir welding stir head rotation speed is 800 r/min and the welding speed is 120 mm/min,the hardness of ZM5 magnesium alloy joint reaches the highest level of 85HV,which is about 90%of the hardness of the base metal, and the welding effect is the most ideal. The fracture morphology showed a small number of dimples and cleavage planes, and the fracture form was quasi-cleavage fracture.According to the analysis results,it can be seen that the friction stir welding process can achieve effective bonding of ZM5 magnesium alloy under the condition of appropriate parameters, which can be used to repair cracks and corrosion defects in the external shell of the fuselage.
