The conveyor belt is an important component of a belt conveyor,and effective detection and protection of the conveyor belt are crucial during its operation.Longitudinal tearing is the most common form of damage in conveyor belts.Firstly,the forms of longitudinal tearing in conveyor belts were introduced.Then,the research status of longitudinal tearing protection devices for belt conveyors at home and abroad was introduced.The advantages and disadvantages of existing longitudinal tearing monitoring and protection devices were analyzed.It was proposed that developing a highly sensitive,safe and reliable conveyor belt longitudinal tearing and wear detection device is one of the key core technologies for achieving automation and intelligence in future bulk conveyors.
