In the view of historical materialism,the path of social development is a unity of diversity,and there is no universally applicable general development model that is fixed in one place.The notion that"modernization equals westernization"is merely a myth,because western modernization is essentially a development model that endows its own particularity with a universality that is not truly universal;it is not feasible to simply copy and paste it.However,in reality,western modernization is a model that many latecomer countries are eager to emulate on their path to modernization.This indicates that breaking the myth of"modernization equals westernization"is not enough by merely explaining and revealing it theoretically;it is also necessary to present historically and realistically a new path to modernization that can transcend western modernization and create a new form of human civilization.Chinese modernization is such a new development model.Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China,Chinese modernization has not only kept pace with the times but has also broken the myth of"modernization equals westernization"creating a new form of human civilization,and has deepened,enriched,and innovated the theory and practice of world modernization at a higher stage.
