Amino acid salts based facilitated transport membranes for CO2 separation:State of the art
Membrane separation is widely regarded as a promising technology for CO2 separation due to its advantages of high modularity, small footprint, low or no chemical emissions and ease of operation. For gas separation, however, most polymer membranes follow a solution-diffusion mechanism,so there is a trade-off between gas permeability and selectivity, which limits the use of membranes for CO2 separation in industrial applications.Facilitated transport membrane is considered to be an effective solution to overcome the limitation. In this paper, the research progress of amino acid salts based facilitated transport membranes for CO2 separation is reviewed. In view of the existing problems, the future development direction of amino acid salt containing facilitated transport membrane is proposed.
