Books and journals play an important role in the transmission of human knowledge,cultural exchange,and individual growth.Amidst the shift from traditional reading to screen-reading,editorial design faces new opportunities and challenges.Zhu Yingchun is a renowned book designer and artist in China,whose books have won numerous design awards both domestically and internationally including"China's Most Beautiful Books"and"World's Most Beautiful Books".In this issue,we invited him to discuss various aspects of book design,including methods and concepts,the relationship between design and content,the importance of typography,design principles of children's books,the chineseness of book design,and the relationship between printed books and e-books.The discussion aims to provide insights and references for book and journal design in the digital era.
