Spatial Construction and Emotional Expression of Printed Books in the Digital Era
In the digital era,the status and future of books are increasingly being questioned.This article does not discuss technological changes but rather address the issue of transition that books face against the significant change.By analyzing the cultural characteristics,three-dimensional physicality,and materiality of the book,and integrating the theories of text sociology and spatial narratology,the article highlights the greater possibilities that the book offer compares to digital texts.Book designers are exemplified in their active participation in this transition,continuously altering their thinking and creative perspectives to explore future possibilities.The article argues that texts can appear on various media,but the materiality of book cannot be completely replaced.
