National Image Design and Aesthetic of the Times—Interview with Hang Jian
This article presents an in-depth discussion based on an interview with Professor Hang Jian,a professor at the China Academy of Art and a Chair Professor at Tsinghua University.The interview explores key issues such as the concept of national image design,the working methods involved,and its positioning in the context of globalization.Hang emphasizes that national image design should not only reflect the political will and ideological values of the state but also be integrated with daily design.He highlights the combination of plan and market as a distinctive feature of national design,while also recognizing the potential of internet economy and big data in the design process.Hang also argues that Chinese design should avoid superficial formalism and instead focus on making a subtle yet impactful influence on the international stage.
