The shafts safety of Shengfu Coal Mine was influenced by the mining of surrounding coal mine.In order to evaluate the shaft safety, theoretical analysis, field measurements and empirical analogy were used.Firstly, the ranges of protective coal pillars for shafts were delimited. Then the movement and deformation at different positions of the shafts for three schemes, including the working face mined normally, the district coal pillar mined, and the shaft overburden area not mined, were predicted. Finally, the classification of the mining damage grade, damage classification and structural treatment method of the shaft were proposed, the safety and stability of the shaft affected by mining was evaluated. The results showed that the main and auxiliary inclined shafts were not affected by the mining and the ventilation shaft was damaged at level I(slight)in the range of[0,50]m and[0,41]m from the ground when the 01 working face in the No.3 coal seam was normally mined, thus there was little impact on the safety of the shafts. But when the coal pillar was also mined and in the most unfavorable case, the main inclined shaft would be damaged at level Ⅱ(general),level Ⅰ(slight)in the range of[0,70]m and(70,250)m from the wellhead, respectively, and the ventilation shaft would be damaged at level Ⅲ(severe),level Ⅱ(general)and level Ⅰ(slight)in the range of[0,33]m,(33,58)m and(58,90]m,respectively,thus the highest level III damage to the ventilation shaft, which would affect the normal use of the ventilation shaft.
