The impact of digital transformation on the dual performance of energy firms under the"dual-carbon"goal:The moderating role of environmental regulation
Digital transformation under the"dual-carbon"goal is crucial for promoting energy revolution and green low-carbon transformation.Based on the data of A-share listed energy enterprises in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2013 to 2022,we investigate the impact of digital transformation on the environmental performance and green innovation performance of energy enterprises and the role of environmental regulation. The study finds that:① digital transformation significantly and positively affects the environmental performance and green innovation performance of energy enterprises.② environmental regulation strengthens the driving effect of digital transformation on the environmental performance of energy enterprises, and weakens the positive impact of digital transformation on the green innovation performance of energy enterprises.③ the difference in the impact of digital transformation on the environmental performance and green innovation performance of energy enterprises with different property rights and sizes is significantly. The study provides empirical support for the energy saving and emission reduction effects of digital transformation,a theoretical basis for the government to formulate environmental governance policies and enterprises to implement digital transformation strategies, and new practical insights to promote the realization of the"dual-carbon"goal.
