Mechanical damage characteristics of structural coal particles under uniaxial loading and unloading
In order to demonstrate the necessity of structural coal in the process of coal and gas outburst, deepen the understanding of the occurrence mechanism of coal and gas outburst, and provide guidance for the theory and practical work of coal and gas prevention, the primary coal and structural coal particles from 15 coal seam of Baiyangling Coal Mine of China National Coal Group were selected as ex-perimental samples to conduct quantitative analysis on the mechanical properties and failure characteristics of structural coal. The results show that tectonic coal is more prone to deformation and failure under the same stress conditions. The strength of primary coal is signifi-cantly greater than that of structural coal at the same scale. The energy needed to break structural coal into structural coal particles is lower and the crushing conditions are easier to achieve. This determines that tectonic coal has high outburst risk and tendency and plays an important role in the occurrence and development of outburst.
