Objective To describe and analyze the thyroid cancer incidence and mortality in Suzhou Xiangcheng District from 2010-2019.Methods Patients diagnosed with thyroid cancer between 2010 and 2019 in Su-zhou Xiangcheng District were extracted to calculate the incidence, mortality, and annual percentage change(APC).The standard rate was calculated based on the 2010 sixth national census data. Results From 2010-2019,there were 562 new thyroid cancer cases in Suzhou Xiangcheng District(crude incidence,13.97/105;age-standardized incidence,12.22/105),among which 120 were male(crude incidence,6.10/105;age-standardized incidence,5.39/105)and 442 were female(crude incidence,21.50/105;age-standardized incidence,18.76/105).There were 18 thyroid cancer-related deaths(crude mortality,0.45/105;age-stan-dardized mortality,0.21/105),among which 5 were male(crude mortality,0.25/105;age-standardized mor-tality,0.11/105)and 13 were female(crude mortality,0.63/105;age-standardized mortality,0.31/105).From 2010-2016,theAPCof the thyroid cancer crude and age-standardized incidence was 34.04% (P<0.05)and 34.17% (P<0.05),respectively.From 2016-2019,theAPCthyroid cancer crude and age-stan-dardized incidence was-3.35% (P>0.05)and-2.67% (P>0.05),respectively.From 2010-2019,the APCthyroid cancer crude and age-standardized incidence was-1.29% (P>0.05)and 0.26% (P>0.05),respectively.Conclusions Active and effective measures should be implemented to curb the health hazards of thyroid cancer based on the morbidity and mortality characteristics of thyroid cancer.
