Objective To explore the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of nasopharyngeal carci-noma(NPC)in rural areas of Fujian Province from 2010 to 2016,and provide epidemiological basis for prevention and control strategies. Methods NPC data were extracted from the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme(NRCMS)database in Fujian Province.Take the number of inpatients in the database as the number of NPC cases in the region for statistical analysis.Joinpoint was used to analyze the epidemic trend;Moran's I,log likelihood ratio(LLR),relative risk(RR)and other indicators were used to describe and analyze the data, and draw a local indicators of spatial autocorrelation(LISA)clustered graph. Results 2010-2016,the average age of NPC patients from rural areas of Fujian Province was(50.14±12.53)years.The average annual incidence rate of NPC patients was 5.12/105 between 2010 and 2016.The male-to-female ratio of incidence rate was 2.35 times. The NPC incidence rate had a rapid upward trend after 35 years of age,and a downward trend after reaching a peak in the 55-year age group. The global spatial autocorrelation analysis found that the incidence rate of NPC was positively correlated in the spatial distribu-tion,and the LISA analysis showed that there were high-high and low-low aggregations. The spatial scan-ning analysis showed that the high-risk areas were mainly concentrated in the coastal areas of southern Fujian from 2010 to 2016.Conclusions In rural areas of Fujian Province, the incidence rate of NPC is high among men and the 40-69 year age group, and the NPC incidence rate exhibited an aggregated distribu-tion,with clear high-and low-risk areas. Therefore, early screening for NPC in the population 40-69 years of age in high incidence areas will facilitate the early diagnosis and treatment of NPC.
