Objective To analyze the death level and cause distribution of residents in Donggang district.To provide a scientific basis for the region to set a target of reducing the probability of premature death from major chronic diseases by 30%.Methods According to the cause of death monitoring data of residents in Donggang District from 2020 to 2022 reported by"Shandong Province Cause of Death Monitoring Informa-tion Management System",statistical analysis software were Excel 2010 and SPSS 22.0.Results A total of 2 091 786 registered population were monitored in Donggang District from 2020 to 2022,and the pro-portion of population over 65 years old was more than 15.00% in each year.A total of 13 524 deaths were monitored from 2020 to 2022.The average annual crude mortality rate was 646.53/100 000,and the stan-dardized mortality rate was 498.31/100 000.The ratio of male to female deaths was 1.33:1,which was higher in males than in females(P<0.01).The age variation of death rate in each year was basically the same,and the crude death rate in the age group of 10-14 years was the lowest(8.91 per 100 000).The crude death rate increased gradually with the increase of age,and the increase was more obvious after the age of 45.The main cause of death for people aged 45-64 was malignant neoplasms,while people aged 65 and older was cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Among the three categories of disease deaths,chronic non-communicable diseases accounted for 92.63% of all deaths.The top five causes of death were malignant tumor,heart disease,cerebrovascular disease,respiratory system disease and injury.The top five deaths accounted for 93.45% of the total reported deaths.Conclusion The main cause of death in Dong-gang District from 2020 to 2022 is chronic noncommunicable diseases,which is the most important factor affecting the health of residents.
