Weed species in pear gardens was investigated using inverted W-pattern sampling method in Mi-anyang,Sichuan Province. The composition of weed species, dominant species and the community structure were determined in this area. The results showed that 43 weed species, belonging to 20 families were recorded. Among these weeds,Gramineae weeds 11 species accounted for 25. 58%;Asteraceae weeds 5 species accounted for 11. 63%;Amaranthaceae weeds and Euphorbiaceae weeds 4 species accounted for 9 . 3%,Respectively;other weeds 19 species in total, accounted for 44. 19%. According to RA( relative abundance),Leptochloa panicea,Alter-nanthera philoxeroides,Oxalis corniculata,Commelina benghalensis,Setaria viridis,Acalypha australis,Echinoch-loa colonum,Commelina communis and Rorippa dubia were the main weeds in pear gardens in this area. All in all,Leptochloa panicea and Alternanthera philoxeroides were the dominant weed species in pear gardens in Mian-yang,because of their RA as high as 37. 55 and 30. 94,respectively. And the diversity analysis displayed that the species richness index,Shannon-Wiener index and pielou index of the weeds in pear gardens in the northeast and southwest of Mianyang were higher than those in the northwest and southeast, but the Simpson index was re-verse. Similarity of weed community structure between the southwest and southeast pear gardens was very close,of which the similarity index was as high as 0 . 619;while the similarity index was as low as 0 . 34 between northwest and northeast regions in Mianyang.
