Research on the Influence of Parents'Academic Involvement in Junior Middle School Students'Academic Ability:A Correct View on the"Double Reduction"Policy
The national"Double Reduction"policy has given rise to a contradictory reaction from parents.Whether parents support this policy or not actually depends on how many effects parents'academic involvement achieves on their children's academic improvement.By using the questionnaire data of eighth grade students in the China Education Panel Survey(CEPS 2014-2015),this paper analyzes the impact of academic involvement by junior middle school students'parents in their academic ability.The study shows that parents'academic involve-ment has a positive influence upon junior middle school students'academic ability,which is conditioned by family economic status,parent-child relationships and children's academic expectations.In addition,the paper suggests that parents should correctly understand the"Double Reduction"policy and attach importance to the role of par-ents'academic involvement.
