Trauma Writing about Racial Profiling Law Enforcement:A Study of The Hate U Give
Angie Thomas'novel The Hate U Give, focused on a case in which a white policeman shoots an innocent black teenager, examines the plight of black people at the bottom of American society in the post-racial era and breaks down the disguise of"implicit racism"prevalent in the white community.Following racial profiling law enforcement, the recovery of individual trauma mainly relies on family comfort and support, while collective trauma transmitted between generations is difficult to heal on account of historical, cultural, political, judicial and social factors. The novel shows that literary trauma writing is not only an effective way for writers to heal their own trauma, but also helps cure national and social traumas in a wider scope owing to its roles of enlightenment,warn-ing and guidance.
