Mao Ze-dong and the Five Distinguishing Characteristics of Chinese Civilization
Xi Jin-ping refined and summarized the five characteristics of Chinese civilization.In these five aspects,Mao Ze-dong,with his deep knowledge of traditional culture and Chinese history,made many insightful remarks.In terms of continuity,Mao Ze-dong has long and consistently paid attention to and valued Chinese civilization;in terms of innovativeness,Mao's theoretical innovation on the possible phases of socialist society is one of the sources of the theory of the primary stage of socialism;in terms of unification,Chairman Mao highly valued Emperor Qin Shi Huang and Cao Cao,stressing that the former was the first to unify China;in terms of inclusiveness,he urged the acceptance of fine Chinese and foreign culture and foreign advanced experience;and in terms of peace,Mao advocated solidarity and cooperation with all countries that were willing to make peace.These insightful remarks are worth revisiting and pondering.
