A Model of Inheriting and Developing the Culture of Classical Chinese Poetry:On Mao Ze-dong's Metrical Verses,Pre-Tang Poems,Song-Ci Poems,Fugues,Yuan-Qu Poems,and Other Literary Genres
With unique contributions,Mao Ze-dong was an extremely important figure in the 20th century for his inheriting and developing the culture of classical Chinese poetry.Mao was good at poems,but he also wrote songs,fugues,parallel proses,Yuan-Qu poems,and couplets.Limited as the number of the latter five kinds that he left behind is,we can generally sense that his poetic works are not only bold and heroic,but also elegant and restrained.Also,they have playful and folkloric colors.Mao Ze-dong,as a master of language and poetry,had intimate knowledge of traditional Chinese culture,and led in poetic creation with classical Chinese styles.While reading numerous books and traveling nationwide,he used the four treasures of the study room to compose poetic masterpieces that have been handed down from generation to generation.His works cast a peak of poetic culture,and his style of poetry and literature opened a new era in the history of Chinese culture.
