Deng Xiao-ping'Prominent Leading and Working Methods During His Administration in Southwest China
In the face of the extremely complicated situation during his administration in Southwest China,Deng Xiao-ping put forward and applied a series of important leading and working methods:first,he regarded the question of whom to rely on as"a fundamental ideological issue"of the CPC's administration,and put forward the viewpoints and methods of largely relying on the working class and consolidating the foundation of farmers;secondly,he took the mass line as the only correct way to do a good job and focused on solving problems such as bureaucracy,commandism and closed-door doctrine;thirdly,he pooled the wisdom of all the people by making full use of the people's congresses and consultation methods to reach out to the masses and solve problems;fourthly,he emphasized that work could not be done only with enthusiasm and bravery,but also with wisdom,tactics and methods as well as through seizing the main contradictions and persuading people with reason;and fifthly,he resolutely opposed a series of styles that were detached from the masses.Deng Xiao-ping's leading and working methods,the concrete embodiment of the CPC's ideological line of seeking truth from facts and the mass line,provide important inspiration and reference for promoting the construction of a strong nation and the great cause of national rejuvenation at present.
