The CPC's Constructing Cultural Leadership in the Early Period of New China:A Historical Survey and Its Implications
Constructing cultural leadership is an important part of the CPC's promoting cultural development and ideological construction.With the establishment of a comprehensive ruling position,the continual improvement of economic conditions,and the development of culture and education undertakings,the CPC has actively promoted the construction of cultural leadership since the founding of New China.The Party has established the dominant position of Marxism in the field of ideology and culture by criticizing non-proletarian currents of thought;it carried out the transformation of old arts to promote the development of advanced socialist culture and education;the CPC clarified the guidelines and principles for developing cultural construction to stimulate the vitality of cultural innovation and creation;and it strengthened the work of ideological and political education to enhance the people's political awareness and cultural consciousness.These measures greatly facilitated the orderly development of cultural construction and effectively promoted the construction of the Party's cultural leadership.
