Mao Zedong's Evaluation of the Characteristics of Historical Figures and Their Contribution to the Development of Marxist Historiography
Mao Zedong's evaluation of historical figures underwent a transition from being a traditional histo-rian to accepting the Marxist materialist view of history.During the Yan'an period,Mao Zedong's evaluation of historical figures became increasingly mature,and he was able to scientifically apply the materialist view of history and analyze historical figures in conjunction with China's issues,in order to achieve the goal of promot-ing the process of Chinese revolution.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,Mao Zedong's evaluation of historical figures served socialist construction.Mao Zedong's development and innovation in the evaluation criteria for historical figures not only played an important role in promoting Mao Zedong's historical thinking,but also in shaping Mao Zedong Thought and even the discourse system of 20th century Chinese Marxist historiography.Under the influence of Mao Zedong,Marxist historiography in 20th century China de-veloped rapidly,constructing a discourse system that embodies Chinese style,Chinese style,and Chinese characteristics with the people as the main body of history.
