Experimental study on optimization of coking coal blending scheme based on coal quality characteristics of lean coal
Rational use of lean coal and increase its proportion in coking coal blend can reduce cost and increase effi-ciency and protect high-quality coking coal resources. To explore the influence of the addition of lean coal in the coal blend scheme of the coking plant and the optimization adjustment of the scheme on the quality of coke, meager and lean coal(MC),lean coal(LC1 and LC2)were selected to understand the basic coal quality characteristics by proxi-mate analysis and petrographic analysis, and the structural characteristics and volatile release behavior of the coal sample were determined by FTIR spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.Based on the lean coal property,40 kg coke oven test was used to evaluate the coke quality of blended coal with different proportion of lean coal, and the rea-son of coke quality difference was explored. The results show that when the proportion of LC1 and LC2 is increased to 35%,the coke reactivity index(CRI)decreases, the coke strength after reaction(CSR)increases, and the coke quality is still better than that prepared by the basic coal blend. In the basic scheme,MC can replace LC1 and LC2,and after replacement,CRI decreases,CSR increases,fine-grained and medium-grained mosaic structure increases in the coke optical tissue, and coke quality does not deteriorate. When the proportion of MC in coal blend increases to 11%,CRI increases,CSR decreases, and coke quality deteriorates significantly.Based on the lean coal property, the proportion of lean coal in coal blend can reach a higher proportion, which provides a theoretical basis for the use of high rank coal in the subsequent industrial coal blending scheme.
