Quality Inspection System Development of Bench Works Based on Computer Vision
The included angle, opposite side distance and screw hole center position are usually detected by using protractor, caliper measurement and manual visual measurement for the bench works of metalworking practice. To solve the problems such as inefficiency, big error, and susceptibility to human factors,a detection approach based on computer vision is proposed. With the edge features of the workpiece as the detection target,a hardware system is designed to collect images,pre-process images, extract and refine edge features, and obtain accurate edge features. Then the least square method is used to fit the features of the lines and circles, calculate the angle between the two adjacent lines and the distance between the center of the circle and the sides of the hexagon, and judge the quality of the works according to the results.Based on LabVIEW software,a computer vision quality inspection system with friendly interface and simple operation is developed. The actual application results show that the accuracy rate, efficiency, reliability and precision of the system meet the detection requirements. The detection results are objective, intuitive, stable and effective.
