Psychological Pressure of Young University Teachers and Its Relief Based on Psychological Resilience
In order to investigate the sources of psychological stress among young university teachers and propose measures to alleviate this stress,a survey was conducted using a self-developed Life Event Scale(LES)on 536 full-time teachers from seven universities in Zhejiang Province. The results indicated that years of teaching experience and professional titles were moderately to highly correlated with economic, work, and overall stress levels, with perceived stress decreasing as professional titles and years of teaching experience increased.Economic and work pressures were identified as the main sources of stress for young university teachers. The heaviest work pressures included heavy assessment tasks, difficulties in project applications, and paper publications, while the primary economic pressures were mortgage stress and obligations to support and raise family members. It is proposed that outward bound(OB)training and strengths-based interventions can enhance psychological resilience, thereby reducing work and economic pressures for young teachers.
