In order to respond to the national strategic plan of building up China's cultural strength and bring into full play the social responsibility of libraries,this paper explores the path for university libraries to empower the inheritance and development of Songyun culture.Firstly,it analyzes the connotations and characteristics of Songyun culture to sort out the feasibility of university libraries in empowering Songyun culture.Secondly,it uses a combined methodology of network survey and interview to clarify the current situation of university libraries'services for Songyun culture and points out the existing problems.And finally,it proposes the practical path for empowering the inheritance and development of Songyun culture from four aspects,i.e.,deepening the characteristic resources of Songyun culture,constructing the Songyun culture brand system,innovating the Songyun culture service mode and opening up the organizational cooperation.
