In order to explore the values of higher education in the comprehensive competitiveness of cities,this paper,selecting the cities specifically designated in the state plan as sample cities and based on the relevant index data in the domestic statistical yearbook from 2011 to 2021,discusses the interactive relationship between the higher education development and the improvement of comprehensive competitiveness,designs and constructs the evaluation index system of higher education and urban comprehensive competitiveness,constructs a comprehensive panel model by using entropy weight method,comprehensive index method and other methods,and measures the correlation and interaction effect between higher education and comprehensive competitiveness in the sample cities.The results show that although the influence of higher education and urban comprehensive development is highly positive,the influence of different research indicators on urban development is significantly different.It is suggested that relevant cities should rely on their economic advantages based on their actual conditions to develop higher education and improve competitive advantages so as to promote the high-quality development of cities.
