Whole-person education is the essential theoretical basis of production-oriented approach(POA).It is theoretically feasible and reasonable to apply POA to curriculum ideological and political education,where English writing course plays an important role.Since POA conforms to the requirements and objectives of the ideological and political education in many aspects,the paper aims to explore the approach of giving full play of the unique advantages of POA in ideological and political education in English writing course.It analyzes the problems that should be considered in the design of motivating stage of college English writing course from the perspective of curriculum ideological and political education,and,with the example of a writing course for second-year English majors in a foreign language university,explores the design of the motivating stage of a college English writing course with ideological and political elements.
