The Practice and Enlightenment of STEAM Education in Children's Outdoor Nature Games in Kindergartens
Children primarily engage in concrete image thinking and acquire knowledge through direct perception,hands-on activities,and personal experiences.When children venture outdoors to connect with nature,explore their surroundings,and participate in outdoor natural games,they gain enhanced sensory experiences and critical insights.This exposure provides them with greater opportunities and challenges that foster the healthy and harmonious development of both their physical and mental well-being.The objective of STEAM education is to ignite children's interest,enhance learning quality,stimulate critical thinking,and introduce them to scientific concepts as well as STEAM methodologies.This study integrates the foundational research on outdoor nature games with STEAM education by analyzing existing challenges within the implementation of STEAM principles in these outdoor settings.It also proposes supportive strategies and recommendations for effectively integrating STEAM education into outdoor nature games in kindergartens to elevate children's overall competencies and innovative capabilities while promoting the growth of their STEAM mindset and spirit of inquiry.
