This paper introduces the important role of X-ray inspection technology in power transmission maintenance operations, explores the internal crimping quality of tension line crimping tubes, and lists typical defects of crimping tubes found in actual production operations;an in-depth analysis of the measurement results of 13353 crimping tubes shows that the proportion of steel core broken strands and steel anchor broken in heat-resistant conductor crimping tubes is about 84 times that of ordinary conductors, and the critical defect rate is 6.4 times that of ordinary conductors;then the feasibility of dealing with steel core broken strands and disconnection defects by installing backup wire clamps was verified through mechanical properties(grip strength test)and electrical properties(temperature rise, resistance test)tests;finally, the radiation dose of X-ray sources was tested, and it was found that the radiation dose received by operators in normal work was 0.53~0.63 nSv/h,which is far lower than the industrial standard of 2.5 μSv/h.The radiation dose of X-ray sources in normal work is harmless to the human body.
