Research on key technologies of OFDM system physical layer and FPGA implementation
To achieve efficient anti-interference wireless communication in complex environments,a physical layer for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)system based on the IEEE 802.11a protocol was designed. This design utilized the Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)to implement three key physical layer technologies involved in OFDM system design, including the grouping detection algorithm based on the autocorrelation of short training sequences, the frequency offset estimation algorithm based on the cyclic characteristics of short training sequences, and the channel estimation algorithm using the characteristics of long training sequences.Simulation experiments on the three algorithm principles were conducted on MATLAB.The results showed that the three key technologies have strong algorithm reliability and strong feasibility of implementation on FPGA.By carrying out the modular design of three algorithms, writing RTL Verilog code for FPGA implementation, conducting simulation and debugging on Modelsim software, and verifying its functions and performance through the Zedboard development board produced by Xilinx, designing an Ethernet transmission protocol for the processing system terminal, transmitting the data through the debugging assistant of the network port on PC,the receiver received the data correctly, which proved that the system can carry out wireless data transmission normally.
