Vertical compressive capacity of pre-stressed high-strength concrete short pile
Due to the influence of geological conditions, there are often adverse situations in the application of pre-stressed high-strength concrete(PHC)pipe pile, such as short effective pile length(e.g.,6-8 m)and large differences in pile length. The reasonable value of the vertical compressive capacity of PHC short pile is related to the safety, economy, and construction progress of the foundation. To study the mechanical mechanism of a PHC short pile and the principle and method of determining its vertical compressive capacity, this paper took the solution of the vertical compressive capacity of a PHC short pile(about 6 m)in a high-rise project in Panyu,Guangzhou,as the starting point.Through the comparative analysis of Q-s curve of the static load test of engineering pile and nearby drilling data, combined with the checking results of geological prospecting report, the vertical compressive capacity of PHC short pile in the core tube area was reasonably improved, pile filling was avoided and the economic effect was remarkable. The vertical compressive capacity of PHC short pile was related to the engineering geological characteristics and pile formation technology of the soil rock stratum at pile side and pile end.It should be reasonably determined according to the soil rock stratum characteristics of pile side and pile end, static load test results of representative piles, relevant technical standards, regional experience and settlement control requirements, and the necessary measures should be taken to ensure the safety, rationality and economy of the foundation.
