The obligation of reasonable verification is a basic duty of care undertaken by the news in-formation platform.On the basis of the fault provisions,the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China created a system of reasonable verification obligations at the level of actual law,elevated the previous bus-iness norms,administrative requirementsand judicial opinions to statutory obligations,and established clear rules for the performance of the obligations of news platforms within the framework of basic law.For the i-dentification criteria,"six elements theory"has become a clear legal standard and application basis,and whether to obtain economic benefits is an unnecessary reference for the applicable law.Although there are differences in the verification obligations undertaken by various news platforms,the common trend is that many courts have shifted from requiring proof of the truth of content to proof of reasonable verification ob-ligations.
