The Influence of Corrosion Conditions on the Fracture Morphology and Failure Mechanism of 7050 Aviation Aluminum Alloy
This study aims to explore the impact of corrosion conditions on the failure modes of 7050 aviation aluminum alloy.It investigates the macroscopic and microscopic morphology,energy spectrum,and metallurgical microstructure of fractured specimens subjected to varying corrosion times and concentrations of corrosion solution,and further analyzes related failure mechanism of the alloy.The results show that in both 3.5%and 5%NaCl solution,the Al content in 7050 aviation aluminum alloy samples gradually decreases as the corrosion duration extends,while the samples corroded in 5%NaCl solution contain more O element.Prolonged corrosion time and elevated concentrations of corrosion solution alter the damage mechanism of 7050 aviation aluminum alloy,and also result in an increase in localized corrosion sites and the formation of dark,narrow grain boundaries clogged with corrosion products in the corroded samples.
