Experimental study on char produced from lignin pyrolysis
The lignin pyrolysis was performed at different pyrolysis temperatures on a lab-scale tube furnace pyrolysis reactor,it provided comprehensive information for yield and properties of pyrolysis char. The results are as follows:with increasing in pyrolysis temperature from 300 ℃ to 700 ℃,the char yield decreased from 72.94% to 39.79%;the char becomes more carbonaceous, this lead to a increase in LHV from 29.19 MJ/kg to 31.62 MJ/kg,C content of the char significantly increased from 65.93% to 84.89%;with increasing in pyrolysis temperature from 300 ℃ to 600 ℃,specific surface area of the char increased from 0.47 m2/g to 13.63 m2/g,iodine adsorption of the char increased from 185.51 mg/g to 320.64 mg/g,while with further increasing of temperature, specific surface area of the char and iodine adsorption of the char declined rapidly. Therefore, the effect of pyrolysis temperature on the improvement of quality and adsorption of the char is significant, while adsorption of the char will reduces at excessive temperature.
