Antioxidant Activities and Lifespan of Corn Peptides Involved in Caenorhabditis elegans
The antioxidant ability of corn peptides was investigated by using C.elegansas a model.Under the conditions of high glucose and acute oxidative stress induced by H2O2,the average lifespan of C.elegansas increased by 48.09%and 28.20%,respectively,the contents of oxidative metabolites MDA and ROS were significantly decreased, while the activities of antioxidant enzymes CAT,SOD and GSH-Px were significantly increased, these showed that the corn peptides could effectively regulate the activities of antioxidant enzymes in C.elegansas, reduce the contents of oxidative metabolites, and protect the oxidative damage of C.elegansas.
