The"double first-class"strategy has brought new opportunities and challenges for the development of colleges and universities.In this context,practical teaching is particularly important.For the purpose of cultivating first-class talents with innovative thinking and practical ability,South China Agricultural University had established a provincial experimental teach-ing demonstration center for food quality and safety with characteristics of agriculture and forestry universities through optimiz-ing and integrating the related teaching resources inside and outside the university.Through improving the practice teaching system,innovating practice teaching platform,optimizing experiment teaching faculty,constructing information management platform and improving the laboratory conditions,the quality of the talent cultivation had been effectively improved and the food subject has been promoted.The construction of experimental teaching demonstration center had provided the important safeguard for the implementation of the"double first-class"construction of the university as well.
